The Alzheimer’s Association will be providing a class in Bardstown. “Know the Ten Signs” is a presentation to increase your awareness of the warning signs of Alzheimer’s and other dementia’s and give insight to the benefits of early detection and early diagnosis.

The first Stephen Foster Festival will be held on June 9, 2012. Beginning at 10am with a Welcome Ceremony on the Old Courthouse Plaza and Visitors Center; cast members from the Stephen Foster Story will be singing “My Old Kentucky Home” to kick off the festivites. At 11am, join a Stephen Foster Story character at the Old Bardstown Village in downtown Bardstown for Foster Alive! (Free Event) A chance to become a cast member and re-enact classic scenes from The Stephen Foster Story. 12noon, enjoy lunch at any of our 9 dining options in downtown Bardstown. After lunch stroll down to the Farmers Market for HarmonicaMania! (Free Event) Receive a free harmonica and learn to play “Oh! Susanna”. Between11am-5pm, stop in to the Fine Arts Bardstown Society’s Art Gallery for The American Experience: Stephen Foster, PBS documentary (Free Event), showing on the hour. At Wickland Home of Three Governors there will be “Dancing Through Time” (Free Event), learn to dance the Waltz and Polka with cast members at 11a, 1p and 3p. Also at Wickland, History in Programs and Pictures, view a display of souvenir programs and photos from The Stephen Foster Story.
Also on June 9th is the Blooming Bardstown Garden Tour and Marketplace, 8am-4pm. Rain or Shine. $8 in Advance & $10 Day of Tour. The Free garden inspired shopping experience will be held at the Nelson County Extension Office.
Wickland Home of Three Governors will be hosting a Arts & Crafts Fair on June 9th.

April 20th- The American Heart Associations, HeartChase Kick-Off will take place on the plaza of the Welcome Center from 12-1pm. This is an opportunity to learn about the new event, get registered, grab lunch, and play games!
April 27-28 is the Downtown Art Walk, Talk and Gawk. Participating downtown businesses will showcase local artists and students artwork in their store fronts throughout the weekend. Friday evening there will be music on the square, extended shopping hours and a wine tasting at FABS art gallery! So if you are in town to enjoy the Kentucky Bourbon Festival events, stop in downtown for an art filled shopping night! Plenty of dining options for you to enjoy!
